The Children’s Ministry of the Dzorwulu Bethany Methodist Church in Accra on Sunday, 17 February 2019 crowned their week-long children’s week celebration with a thanksgiving service at the church auditorium and a call on parents to spend more time teaching their children about Jesus Christ.
The celebration began on Monday 11 February 2019 with a talk on the theme: “Discipling the child”.
Dr Mrs Alberta Bondzi-Simpson a lecturer at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) who delivered the talk encouraged parents to make conscious efforts to bring their children to full knowledge of Jesus Christ and his saving grace.
She said just as parents put in efforts to educate their children, they must do the same to ensure their wards get to know Jesus Christ to secure their salvation.
The parents and children were treated to a Christian movie titled: “I can only imagine” on Wednesday, 13 February 2019 at the church auditorium. Parents were advised after the movie to support their children in their chosen fields of endeavours and not impose their will on their kids.
The children on Saturday, 16 February, organized a clean-up exercise at the Mid-way clinic at Abofu, Accra.
Dr Michael Agyapong, a medical officer at the facility educated the kids on personal hygiene and the proper way to wash themselves to prevent fungus infection and other health related diseases.
The celebration was climaxed on Sunday, 17 February with a thanksgiving service and series of activities including, choreography, Bible verse recitals, song ministrations and a dialogue on the theme: Discipling the child at home, school and church.”
