PRESIDENT Akufo-Addo has been ranked as the best Ghanaian president in the Fourth Republic, according to Bernard Antwi Boasiako aka Wontumi, the Ashanti Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) Chairman.

Speaking on Kumasi-based Nhyira FM, he stated that the Akufo-Addo government had performed excellently in just two years in office.

According to him, President Akufo-Addo has fulfilled about 85 per cent of his campaign promises within a short time to the admiration of Ghanaians, including even opponents of the NPP.

Wontumi said former President John Agyekum Kufuor’s government comes second in the ranking.

“President Akufo-Addo’s administration is the best government in the Fourth Republic and there is no doubt about this fact. He has performed better than his predecessors. The government has fulfilled 85 per cent of its campaign promises. The famous free senior high school (SHS) programme, which our opponents said is impossible, is now here with us,” he declared.

“The One District, One Factory (1D1F), the re-opening of Anglogold Ashanti, NABCO and all the other major campaign promises have been fulfilled within just two years and it is amazing. Former President John Agyekum Kufuor’s government, which also introduced the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) and other social intervention programmes, comes second in the ranking,” he added.

Wontumi said “several head of states abroad have visited Ghana since President Akufo-Addo assumed the highest seat of the land, and it is an indication of endorsement of his excellent performance”.

The Ashanti Regional NPP Chairman stated that he is proud to be the NPP Ashanti Regional chairman now, saying “Nana Akufo-Addo has lived up to expectation”.
