The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has pulled down portions of the Old Parliament House opposite the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum in Accra.
Fire destroyed portions of the building four years ago.
Cymain Ghana Limited were contracted to pull the building down.
Constructed in the early 1950s, the building, which housed the Citizens Vetting Committee (CVC), the Judgement Debt Commission, the CHRAJ and the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), caught fire in December 2013 and had parts of it destroyed, making it unsafe for people to occupy.
ClassFMonline.com cited a letter signed by Director of Administration, Rev Duke Hammond, warning staff to stay off work on Friday, 8 September when the demolition work began.
The building is expected to be reconstructed.
